Random ramblings around Len in no particular order Len and Erica used to pop in for a cup of tea or 2 or 3 or....and a few biscuits or cake. It was lovely to listen to his happy times spent with the family and friends. Len used to tell us all about his meals in different places every day. Len loved taking Erica out to a regular circuit of places to eat on specific days, Mother Kelly's at Porchester, Waterlooville community centre etc.. He was well known and always smiled and chatted to people. We learned a few gardening tips from him when admiring his prestine garden and drinking a cup of tea or 2 or 3 or...in the best crockery and a few biscuits or cake. His love and knowledge of gardening was incredible and he was an inspiration. We fondly remember Len and Erica attendances at any picnic or family gathering. Family and extended family was very important for Len and Erica, children, grand-children and great grand-children whatever age. Even Len and Erica had to wrap themselves in blankets to keep warm in the New Forest. It was a wonderful surprise to see all the stunning black/white photos of Len and Erica's wedding, many not seen before. Also Len's army career. He was very proud of his time spent driving his senior officer and as driving instructor and not disabling explosive devices when part of the bomb disposal activity. Memory of Bruce was day trips with Len on his tanker deliveries for Fergusson tankers. Sitting in cab on bare seats or even the engine cover was memorable. A particular memory was Len and Erica wanting to join us in a trip to Paris. Quite an adventure for them, they did not get lost and enjoyed themselves . Len was always prepared for new social opportunities and discovery trips. A great pride in visiting Len as he desperately tried to overcome his medical problems. A proud and strong character despite painful difficulties. Very proud of the role Jane and Rose played in making his final stage comfortable and thoughtful. The idea of surrounding Len with photos, memories and visit of Erica were wonderful. We are glad we were given the opportunity to say goodbye to Len even though we did not share a Speckled Hen beer or a cup of tea or 2 or 3 or... We will miss Len and he will always be an inspiration to us from a proud and hardworking generation. "Ce n'est qu'un au revoir....." Bruce and Marie-Claude
